Vergenoegd Wine Estate
A producer of succulent red wines made in an old world style in a new world wine producing country
Vergenoegd has been owned by the Faure family for six generations. Historic “Vergenoegd”, the Dutch word meaning “satisfaction has been achieved”, was granted land rights in 1696 and the Faures have been on the farm since the 1820’s. The Cape Dutch homestead is a historic monument and dates from 1773. The business is now in the capable hands of John Faure as Winemaker.
Vergenoegd proudly introduces their elegant red wines to visitors in the tasting room. Situated in the historical Cape Dutch Manor house, Vergenoegd offers a unique experience to wine lovers. Wines offered are aged to perfection and presents the visitor with the opportunity to taste of the oldest wines for tasting available on the wine route.
