Situated on the northern side of Paarl, with spectacular views over the Drakenstein Mountains, lies Veenwouden.
The vineyards lie on a gentle slope, towards the Berg River. The cool rich ferrous clay subsoil is unique to this area, superb for Merlot. Rich red berried, cassis, toasty oak, lead pencil and cigar box are sensory clues to a limited range of classically styled wines that have achieved cult status in just over a decade.
