Swallow Hill
Independent vineyard and artisan winery in South Africa – Wine of Origin Greyton
We are Dianne and Brian Dawes from West Cumbria in the UK, now farming grapes and making wines in the Western Cape, South Africa.
We planted our vines in 2008 to 2010 and we now have one hectare (3000) Tempranillo vines and one hectare (3000) Viognier vines. Our gently sloping vineyard faces north-east towards the beautiful Riviersonderend mountain range just 8km outside Greyton.
We farm organically, always ‘nice to nature’ and we make our wines as naturally as possible. Our aim is to produce handcrafted speciality wines from our own vines in our cellar, which is located underneath our home.
