Stettyn Cellar
“A Sense Of Place” – winetasting, sales & production
The vineyards and farmland around Stettyn Cellar are steeped in history and tradition and represent one of the longest established family legacies in South Africa.
The total area under vines are 364 hectares & produces about 6000 tons of grapes per year. We do not export under the Stettyn label, but are a shareholder/member of the leading export brand: First Cape(based in Simmondium-Franschhoek). The majority of our wines are sold in bulk to First cape and exported to the UK market. The Stettyn winelist consist of the Millstone and Signature Reserve range. The Millstone Range are “value for money” wines made for everyday enjoyment. The Signature Reserve Range are full bodied, wood matured wines made for aging potential. Stettyn has a joint-venture to supply wine for the Felicité Range, which is owned by Newton Johnson Wines.
The area is blessed with a favourable climate for the production of quality grapes, characterized by cold winters inducive to effective vine dormancy and moderate summers aiding long slow ripening.
A small team of dedicated wine farmers, guided by winemaker Albie Treurnicht, has combined a quality first approach with innovative winemaking and is rapidly transforming Stettyn Cellar into an outward looking wine business.
