Stanford Hills
Flowers. Wines. Accommodation.
The historic Weltevrede Farm is home to Stanford Hills Estate, a mere stone’s throw from the quaint village of Stanford. This boutique wine farm, owner managed by Peter and Jami Kastner and their three small boys, has many diverse attractions.
Stanford Hills Winery produces an award winning Pinotage under the label of Jacksons Pinotage. The last 3 vintages have all been awarded 4 stars in the John Platter guide.
Weltevrede Farm is the original home of the Veldfire, a unique species of Leucospermum (also known as a pincushion). From August to December these stunning orange flowers are in full bloom. They are picked daily by the 15 full time staff employed by the farm. They are then put directly into water, and from there packed in boxes for direct export. They are then sent to various markets, including Holland, Germany and Switzerland.
