Le Roux & Fourie Vignerons
Huguenot Heritage boutique hand crafted wine of distinction
At the foot of the majestic Langeberg Mountains lies Le Roux & Fourie Vignerons, on the farm Buitenstekloof – the farm has been established circa 1823. We discovered 4 of the first vines, still growing deep within indigenous bush in the kloof, where some of our Le Roux forebear pioneers had first built their house and established a small vineyard and almond orchard.
In 2003 the two brothers, Johan P and Le Roux Fourie took hands and started producing wine in honour of our French Hugenot forbears, and grandfathers, Le Roux and Fourie. Making wine is a life long passion, with a strong legacy being left by our forbears that came from France to this southernmost tip of Africa out of severe persecution and a will to be free, and to contribute something unique to the immense flavor of South Africa.
We believe in making unique well balanced wines, food pairing our wines with the best complimentary culinary treats, and keep on enjoying what nature’s bounty are gracefully extending us to manage and enjoy in a responsible manner. Our wines are limited edition, individually numbered bottles and only the best from the barrel are bottled and blended.
