The vineyards are cooled by afternoon sea breezes from the Atlantic Ocean which makes it one of the prime growing grape regions in the Western Cape. Well drained, deep soils with good water retention capacity are differentiated into Oakleaf, Hutton and Clovelly types which favour the production of good quality grapes.

Two tiers of wine are produced. The Hillcrest Range comprises a Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rose and a lightly oaked red blend.

The Metamorphic Range includes a Merlot & a Bordeaux Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec and Petit Verdot which may vary from year to year depending on the quality of the vintage.
Both these wines spend 18 months in new & 2nd fill French oak barrels. In 2012 a blend of Sauvignon Blanc & wooded Semillon will be added to the range.

The wines express a sense of place as only grapes grown on the estate are used. Generally the white wines have a lime/citrus flavour and a zesty natural acidity while the red wines are medium bodied, elegant with tremendous fruit expression and a memorable persistence.
