Drakensig

Drakensig is situated in the picturesque Franschhoek valley, where the art of wine making was established by the French Huguenots in the late 1600’s. At the foot of the Simonsberg and over looking the majestic Drakenstein mountains, the climate and rich, red soils combine in perfect harmony. Drakensig literally means “View of the Dragons”.

Drakensig is a boutique cellar with a 150 ton capacity. Currently the cellar is producing 60 000 bottles of red wine and 10 000 bottles of Sauvignon Blanc per year with a steady 10% production increase per year. Drakensig matures its wines in French and American oak for one year, it is then bottled and marketing of the wines starts approximately three months after the wine has been bottled.
