Brunia Wines
Stately homestead offering wine tasting, B&B, biodiversity trailor trips and scrumptious picnics
Brunia Wines is situated 20km from Stanford on the Elim/Papiesvlei gravel road. Warm hospitality extends to wine tasting, wine sales and light lunches.
The farm with its gentle slopes and granite eroded soils makes good use of the terrior thus ensuring production of quality grapes, because in the wine industry, prompted by changes in consumption and international trade, the mass wine system is being transformed into a quality wine industry. The production of “premium+” wines is highly correlated with favourable terrior. Thus making Cold Mountain ideal for wine grape farming together with its 300ha unspoilt fynbos, the farm makes for a feast of the eye and is a nature lover’s dream!
Currently, the vineyards consist of 11,7ha Sauvignon Blanc, 1,2ha Semillon and 1,7ha Shiraz with new plantings in 2010 of 1,5ha Pinot Noir and 1ha Chardonnay, already producing award winning wines!
