Andy Mitchell Wines
Capturing the fine art of garagiste winemaking
Andy Mitchell Wines is a ‘Garagiste’wine producer based in Greyton. The wines are currently produced from grapes sourced from selected quality vineyards in the Helderberg and Bamboesvlei areas. The wines are produced by Andy Mitchell, a qualified Cape Wine Master, his wife Vikki and daughter Olivia, a highly qualified Chef.
The first vintage was produced in 2003, when a Syrah called ‘Breakfast Rock’ was made. The wine was named after the highest point of the Greyton to McGregor trail, which starts very close to the cellar. The maiden vintage won a Veritas Silver award on it’s first outing in the 2005 Veritas Competition. Since the first red wine was made in 2003, subsequent additions to the range have been a dry Rosé made from 100% Shiraz and also a partially barrel fermented Chenin Blanc.
