Abbotts Hill Winery
Hillcrest Farm is the home of Abbotts Hill wines, whose cellar has grown out of the owners’ passion for red wine, and the dream to produce a wine that is unique and recognisable as being from the Malmesbury region.
The wines are produced from a 10-hectare vineyard planted with Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvèdre dry-land bush vines. The combination of natural gravel slopes and extreme weather conditions produces berries with intense, concentrated flavours that make for characterful, interesting wines.
The grapes are harvested by hand when they are at their best, and the wine is made by the family using traditional methods. The process is kept simple and natural, and the wine reflects the life of the grape in the vineyard.
Abbotts Hill wines are available only directly from the farm. The winery also offers group wine-making days where visitors can experience the whole process, from harvest to bottling, with the option of purchasing their own produce at the end of the year.
